Research

  • I was awarded a research grant for the summer of 2024 from the SOURCE office at Syracuse University, which promotes faculty-guided undergraduate research.

  • I lived in Cape Town, South Africa, and interned with the nonprofit investigative news outlet Daily Maverick.

  • Throughout the summer, I attended several journalism workshops with the support of the nonprofit organization iKapa Impact and networked with young, community-minded journalists from local college journalism programs.

  • My internship experience culminated in a focus group of 18-25-year-old South Africans on their view of the media. I was part of a three-person team that planned and led the focus group at Daily Maverick. This focus group is part of a larger global study conducted by IN/LAB, an innovation lab created by Schibsted News Media
