Artificial Intelligence
I took an elective about using artificial intelligence for careers in communications and media. I familiarized myself with an array of image and video generation platforms to create advertising and social media campaigns, an AI-generated influencer, and a political campaign ad. Below is the finished product of the political campaign ad for a fake politician whom I called “Clay Bronsen.” (This video was made solely for educational purposes and is not a reflection of my personal political beliefs.)
Other Work
Research
I was awarded a research grant for the summer of 2024 from the SOURCE office at Syracuse University, which promotes faculty-guided undergraduate research.
I traveled to Cape Town, South Africa, and took an internship with the nonprofit investigative news outlet Daily Maverick.
Throughout the summer, I attended several journalism workshops with the support of iKapa Impact, the company that facilitated the details of my internship, and networked with young, community-minded journalists.
My internship experience culminated in a focus group of 18-25-year-old South Africans on their view of the media. I was part of a three-person team who planned and led the focus group. This focus group is part of a larger global study conducted by IN/LAB, an innovation lab created by Schibsted News Media
